The aim for this project was to explore the characterisations of Vashti and Kuno, a mother and son
from E.M Forster’s book ‘The Machine Stops.’ Despite being written in 1909, the story has uncanny 
similarities to the modern world, particularly the impacts of technology and isolation relating to
the Covid-19 pandemic. I aimed to draw inspiration from these themes in my own style.
